1Danny is writing about Sports Day for the school newspaper.
丹尼正在为学校报社写运动会的报道。
1.1write about写关于；写…的事；写到. write your ideas 意思是：把你的想法(观点，看法)写出来。write about your ideas 意思是：把你的想法(观点，看法)的论据(理由)写出来。前者表示：动宾关系是“直接”的;后者表示：动宾关系是“间接接”的。

1.3Sports Day运动会，运动日，一般指持续一天的运动会，而sports meeting常指持续若干天的运动会。

Sports Day was a great success this year!今年的运动会非常成功！
All the students and teachers from Grades 7, 8 and 9 took part in the sports events.来自7、8、9年级的所有学生和老师都参加了运动项目。
There were ten different events like running, long and high jumps, and ball throwing.有十种不同的运动项目，例如跑步，跳远和跳高，以及扔铅球。

2.2success①可数名词，成功的人或事物。②不可数名词，成功（反义词，failure）
Failure is the mother of success.失败是成功之母。
have success in doing sth.
=succeed（动词，成功）in doing sth.
=be successful in doing sth.
=do sth. successful.

2.3take part in参加
2.4the sports events运动项目。
2.5event名词①竞赛项目。②大事，重要的事情。
The Olympics Games are an important event.奥运会是一项盛事。
2.6throw动词，投，扔
throw sth. to do sb./sth.把某物扔给某人/某事。
throw ... into ...把……投入……
throw ...away...扔掉……
throw at投向，掷向。
3Everyone worked very hard, and we all got some good exercise.大家都非常努力，我们都得到了很好的锻炼。
There were many winners this year.
今年有很多获胜者。
Kim, from Grade 7,won first place in four events.7年级的金姆赢得了四项比赛的一等奖。
Tony, from Grade 8, won first place in two events and second place in three events.8年级的托尼，在两项比赛中赢得了一等奖，在三项比赛中赢得了二等奖。
And Jack, from Grade 9, won first place in six events.九年级的杰克，在六项比赛中赢得了一等奖。

3.1work very hard很努力工作/学习
3.2get some exercise锻炼，做些运动。It's important to get some exercise every day.每天做些运动很重要。
3.3winner可数名词，获胜者，优胜者。
3.4win first /second place赢得第一/二名。
4 I took part in a running event.
我参加了跑步项目
I ran really hard, but my tail got in the way.我真的很努力的跑了，但是我的尾巴总是挡道。
So I didn't win first place.
所以我没有赢得第一名。
I only got third place.我只得了第三。
I felt a little sad,我觉得有点难过，
but then my teammates said,

Winning is not everything.
获胜不是全部。
Having fun is important.重要的是开心。
They were right! We all had lots of fun!

4.1a running event一个跑步项目。
4.2get in the way妨碍，挡道
get in the way of...妨碍……，挡……的路。
His illness gets inthe way of doing his work.他的疾病妨碍了他做工作。
4.3feel a little bad感到有点儿难过。
4.4good work做得不错。
4.5have lots of fun玩得很高兴。
have fun doing sth.愉快地做某事。

10.1during介词，在……时间。
10.2my last visit to Canada我上一次去加拿大访问。其中last是形容词“最近的”;to Canada是介词短语作定语。
